Landspítali University Hospital is looking for a progressive and motivated doctor to join the hospital's transgender team for adults, with the ongoing support of an experienced specialist in gender affirming care. Prior knowledge is preferred but a passion to learn and upskill is crucial. This is an incredibly rewarding role focused on the wellness of the transgender community.
The Trans Team is a passionate, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborative team that works on improvements in services for individuals who seek health care because of gender identity and related issues. We provide access to international education, conferences, specialist support and opportunities to build on relationships across the globe. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to continue with the work that has led to the development of the National gender affirming care service for adults in Iceland. We also work closely with community advocacy groups and offer collaborative opportunities to create a safer and more inclusive space both within healthcare and throughout the wider community.
The employment rate is up to 50%, daytime work and the position is available immediately, but starting date is negotiable.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- Collaborate with nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals within the team
- Collaboration with foreign experts and access to the latest knowledge in the field
- Active participation in the development and strengthening of services through collaboration with advocacy and professional groups nationally and internationally.
Qualifications
- Experience of teamwork and/or interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Initiative and solution-oriented approach
- An Icelandic medical license is a requirement, and a specialist medical license in general medicine, endocrinology, general practice, psychiatry or other specialty of medicine is desirable
- Fluent English and willingness to learn Icelandic

Salary according to the current collective agreement concluded by the Minister of Finance and the Economy and the Medical Association of Iceland.
