Sendinefnd frá Minnesota háskóla í Bandaríkjunum verður í heimsókn á Landspítala - háskólasjúkrahúss og Háskóla Íslands dagana 22. til 27. september 2006. Auk þessa ræða við starfsmenn á LSH og í HÍ fara gestirnir meðal annars í heilbrigðisráðuneytið, Lýðheilsustöð, Íslenska erfðagreiningu og Hjartavernd. Forseti Íslands tekur einnig á móti gestunum á Bessastöðum.

The presentation discusses key challenges and strategic directions as public health research and training become more global, collaborative, interdisciplinary and digitally based. As academic institutions seek to move to a higher level of public impact and organizational maturity, how should they think about planning and investment in human health research, training and service? The presentation also reviews several current global efforts that may serve as exemplars for advancing public health research and training. |
