Greg Ogrinc is a general internist working at the White River Junction Veterans Hospital in White River Junction, VT, and is the Associate Fellowship Director for the VA Quality Scholars Program. He is also an Assistant Professor of Community and Family Medicine and of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School.

Dr. Ogrinc grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1997. He completed his residency in internal medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland in 2000. While in residency, Dr. Ogrinc participated in research evaluating and improving systems of medical education. This research initiated an interest in systems of education and systems of patient care. In June 2002, he completed a two-year fellowship in the VA National Quality Scholars Program at the White River Junction Veterans Hospital. He then completed a one-year term as the VA Undersecretary"s Special Fellow in Quality. This opportunity allowed him to focus on quality of health care and patient safety initiatives within the VA system.

In addition to research about medical education and practice-based learning and improvement, Dr. Ogrinc has been active in improving systems of care for patients. Collaborating with others, he has helped to reduce falls in hospitalized patients and has worked to improve the safety for medication use of patients at home. He lives in Lebanon, NH, with his wife Karen and enjoys coaching sports for his three boys as well as sausage and beer making.
